Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ and former CEO of Binance, has been released from custody in the United States after serving a four-month sentence for deliberately violating the country’s laws. “I will continue to invest in decentralized technologies, blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and biotechnology. I am a long-term investor concerned about impact, not just returns. I will also dedicate more time and funds to charitable (and educational) works. I have some preliminary ideas,” CZ stated on the X micro-blogging platform, hours after his release from a reentry center in San Pedro, California, where he was transferred at the end of August, following three months in a low-security prison in the same U.S. city.

Last Friday, CZ surprised his followers on X with a simple “GM” (Good Morning), sparking a wave of positive reactions. His release, scheduled for today, was moved up two days due to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ rules allowing for early release if the release date falls on a weekend or holiday.

The cryptocurrency community has interpreted CZ’s release as a positive sign that could revitalize the market. However, in the last 24 hours, the impact has been limited as there has been minimal variation in the prices of major cryptocurrencies.

Later, in a second tweet, CZ expressed his relief at being able to enjoy simple daily pleasures like food, emphasizing, “What a luxury to get more than 1 piece of fruit a day!” After thanking the community for their support during his “darkest moments.”

He mentioned that he will take time to reflect on his future, but also highlighted one of his main projects, Giggle Academy, an educational platform aimed at children’s learning in developing countries, as previously reported by CriptoNoticias.

Despite stepping down as Binance’s CEO, CZ will remain active in the cryptocurrency world and intends to act as a mentor for new entrepreneurs. He will also stay engaged with the ecosystem, as he plans to attend some events, as he made clear by stating: “stay tuned. See you at the conferences.”

He also revealed that he is working on a book in which he will narrate his experiences and learnings gained throughout his career. He mentioned that the manuscript is relatively advanced.
