dGEN1, un dispositivo móvil para Ethereum, es presentado

Freedom Factory announced the release of a new mobile device on October 17, 2024. The dGEN1 is a portable hardware device the size of a cell phone that enables users to interact with Web3 services, decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, and sign transactions on the Ethereum (ETH) network.
The device supports Ethereum’s second layer (L2) solutions, which are networks designed to enhance scalability and efficiency while maintaining the security of the network co-founded by Vitalik Buterin.
Upon purchasing the product, users will also participate in an airdrop of tokens such as DEGEN, IMF, BENJI, and others. As of now, the pool has accumulated $60,000 to distribute.
Product shipments are set to begin in the spring of 2025. During the pre-sale, the device is valued at 0.20 ETH or 61,000.00 DEGEN, approximately $500 at the time of this article.

How will dGEN1 work?
dGEN1 will operate with the ethOS operating system, specifically designed to work with devices interacting with the Ethereum network and its second layer solutions like Arbitrum, Base, and others.
Users can manage their on-chain transactions, digital assets, and interact with smart contracts in the Ethereum ecosystem directly from the device, without relying on third parties.
dGEN1 acts as a self-custody cryptocurrency device, giving users control over their funds (without depending on third parties) and private keys.
This is achieved through the integration of Trustless Light Clients technology, where user data is verified directly on the network, eliminating the need for external servers, nodes, or third-party RPCs that could introduce vulnerabilities or interruptions.
dGEN1 also features a built-in browser with the system’s wallet, allowing users to access dApps and sign transactions directly from the browser without switching applications.
The device provides a dedicated visual interface for real-time transaction notifications and network metadata.
While the device is not a phone and lacks telecommunications features, it does not aim to replace other mobile devices according to Freedom Factory.
Although not explicitly mentioned if it supports gaming, dGEN1 functions similarly to a hardware wallet with advanced functionalities like browsing on the web3.
In 2024, the list of mobile devices linked to cryptocurrency networks continues to grow. Recently, CriptoNoticias reported the launch of Seeker, the Solana (SOL) smartphone, and SuiPlay0X1, the portable gaming console on the Sui (SUI) network.
ethOS integrates an Ethereum wallet on dGEN1
The dGEN1 device, through ethOS, integrates a wallet that can be used by any decentralized application (dApp). This simplifies user interaction with Ethereum, as dApps can automatically access funds and execute actions seamlessly.
However, like any cryptocurrency wallet, granting permissions to applications could pose risks. Any application granted access to the system’s wallet could potentially compromise private funds if it’s malicious or compromised.
At this point, Factory Freedom has not disclosed specific security measures to prevent possible attacks on the device.
To purchase dGEN1, you will need to create an NFT
The process of minting non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the device is based on the Base network, one of the largest L2s on Ethereum. This procedure is already available and will be necessary to access the purchase of dGEN1.
The device can connect to the Base network and execute smart contracts that enable the creation of new tokens.
