Since 2021, at least 35,000 students from El Salvador have taken the Bitcoin Diploma and have been instructed on the world’s most important digital asset, according to the organization “Mi Primer Bitcoin”.

According to this Salvadoran non-governmental organization focused on Bitcoin education, these students have been trained in BTC since 2021, with many of them located in rural areas of El Salvador.

As stated by the organization, the goal is to educate 100,000 Salvadoran students about bitcoin. They acknowledge that the preparation of these students is progressing “slowly, but steadily”.

For this reason, Mi Primer Bitcoin has set up a donation program to support the project in various aspects. The fundraising goal is set at 5 BTC, aiming to educate 100,000 young people before the digital currency reaches $100,000.

Donations to Mi Primer Bitcoin can be made to support a particular student, an entire classroom, or even a whole school. Donations are facilitated through Geyser Fund, a bitcoin fundraising platform.

This week, the organization led by American bitcoiner John Dennehy graduated 46 students from Mercedes Monterrosa School in Atiquizaya, Ahuachapán. These students successfully completed the Bitcoin Diploma, where the organization teaches the fundamentals and roots of this ecosystem.

“We are proud of our students,” says Mi Primer Bitcoin, which has been educating El Salvador’s new generations about BTC since 2021, the year when the world’s most important digital asset was granted legal tender status.

In addition to students, Mi Primer Bitcoin has also focused on educating teachers in El Salvador’s public schools to promote Bitcoin education. At least 150 teachers have been trained in BTC, according to the organization’s records.

Mi Primer Bitcoin has also made an impact beyond El Salvador, as it has reached 26 countries so far and its diploma program has been translated into twenty languages, including English, Portuguese, French, German, and Chinese.
